There are rumors aswirl that are whispering that the Eee PC 900 will be released in May instead of June. This is great news for subnotebook enthusiasts because with an early release, before the summer, many people will be able to pick them up for back to school shopping. Everyone is starting to get into the subnotebook market so it may be a great thing for Asus to do an early release, the last release was almost half a year ago, its a good idea to get another incarnation out.

However, everything is not that rosy. If Asus is to release the Eee PC 900 by May instead of June they won't be able to add Atom from Intel. The Atom line of mobile processors are creates especially for small portable computers like the Eee PC. There are two different processors, codenamed Silverthorne and Diamondville. Intel, along with Asus and many other companies are betting that the low cost PC market is going to grow substantially over the next couple of years.
